The difference between flux and solder paste

What is the flux? What is the solder paste? I believe many of my friends may still not know the difference between them. Today, Shenzhen Junji Ruixiang Technology is here to explain the concept of flux and solder paste, and what kind of connection they have.

Flux: A mixture of rosin as a main component, which is an auxiliary material to ensure smooth welding. Soldering is the main process in electronic assembly. Flux is the auxiliary material used in soldering. The main function of flux is to remove the oxide and the oxide on the surface of the soldered base material to achieve the necessary cleanliness of the metal surface. It prevents reoxidation of the surface during soldering, reduces the surface tension of the solder, improves the soldering performance, and the performance of the flux directly affects the quality of the electronic product.

Solder paste: A paste-like chemical that plays the two main roles of “removing oxides” and “reducing the surface tension of the material being welded” during the soldering process. Widely used in watch instruments, precision parts, medical equipment, stainless steel crafts, tableware, mobile communications, digital products, air conditioning and refrigerator refrigeration equipment, glasses, knives, automotive radiators and various PCB boards and BGA solder balls brazing.

So what is the difference and difference between the two?

1. Appearance between the two: the flux is transparent liquid, the solder paste is solid shape, which is the most basic difference between the two.

2. How to use the two: The flux is mainly welded with tin bars, and the solder paste is used during maintenance welding.
